Girls Track: Lindblom’s Shamier Little breezes through 2A state prelims
Lindblom junior Shamier Little qualified for state in four events and got through Friday's Class 2A prelims in every one. On Saturday she plans to run in all four and does not plan to ease up in any of them in order to get through what is expected to be a summer-like day.

Girls Track: Class 3A sprints shaping up to be sensational
Lincoln-Way East’s Aaliyah Brown won her heats in the 100 and 200 Friday at Eastern Illinois University’s O’Brien Stadium and is the No. 2 qualifier in each. Plainfield North’s Cessily Jones is No. 1 in the 100 (11.66) and No. 4 in the 200 (24.37). Also in the mix are Waubonsie Valley’s Morolake Akinosun (11.71; 24.40), Willowbrook’s Cherise Porter (11.85; 24.33) and 200 top qualifier Margaret Bamgbose of Evanston (24.17).
